Standing up for Nickel Belt

France Gélinas is working to strengthen Ontario by protecting public health care, improving services in the North, and standing up for Francophone communities.

As the longest-serving MPP in the current Ontario NDP caucus, France has been a dedicated representative for Nickel Belt since 2007. She serves as Shadow Minister for Health and Shadow Minister for Francophone Affairs, roles where she brings unmatched experience and unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and patient care.

France has championed better access to long-term care, home care, mental health services, and autism supports — especially in rural and Northern communities. She continues to push for improved internet access, safer roads, and investment in public services that people rely on every day.

Deeply connected to her constituents, France is a fierce defender of equity in health care and government spending, and a voice for communities too often left behind.
